Aradius Group Celebrates 165 Years in Business
With deep history within Nebraska, Aradius Group is more than just a printer. Starting as a newspaper printer in 1858 known as Nebraska Republican, to a print shop in 1890 known as Omaha Printing Company, and now a successful printing company with the latest technology to provide clients with the best solutions available. All of this is part of the making of Aradius Group, who celebrates 165 years of business on May 5, 2023.
Much of the success that Aradius Group has today is thanks to Frank Johnson who was elected president in 1921, taking the company from a small business to one of the most successful printers in the region. What’s now known as Aradius Group was located in downtown Nebraska for many years, until 1969 when it was moved to 4700 F Street, where it’s still currently located.
In 1971 Harvey Hayes was named president of Omaha Print. He would go on to purchase a controlling interest in the company, and his son, Steve Hayes, who was elected president of the company in 1992, still owns the business today. In 2020, Chris Mueller, was elected to be the 9th President of Aradius Group, a division of Omaha Printing Company. Mueller has been with the company 13 years and previously served in roles such as COO, quality management, continuous improvement, and VP of Manufacturing.
In 1995 Aradius Group sold their office supply division, which made up over 60% of their sales, to concentrate on growing within the print industry. That allowed them to expand their print capability in 2000 with the purchase of their first web press. In 2005, combined with a 28,000 square foot expansion, Aradius Group increased print capabilities with addition of another web press and extensive bindery equipment. Finally, in 2010 full-service mailing and digital print operations were added to align with the needs of customers. Today, you will find Aradius Group offering envelope printing, campaign consulting and even 5 solutions targeted to help you hit your direct mail and marketing goals.
From 1858 to 2023 many things about Aradius Group have changed, but one thing that hasn’t is their goal to keep their customers at the center of everything. Whether it be their commitment to quality, helping customers understand complex processes or even help customers reach more people.
